Will MS Dhoni play against LSG?
Dhoni’s availability in the IPL 2026 season remains an unsolved puzzle. Before the start of the season, the franchise announced that the former captain would miss several matches in the season due to an injury sustained during training. Later it was revealed that MSD has suffered another injury, so he is working on his fitness. Earlier it was reported that he was training hard to increase his running speed between the stumps. Later Mike Hussey told the media that only Dhoni can tell when he will play.
Ahead of the LSG vs CSK match, some other sources also indicate that Dhoni is likely to travel to Lucknow. But will he play his first match there in IPL 2026? Like before, there is no clear answer on this matter.
CSK’s middle order was looking fragile
When LSG traveled to Chepauk for the previous round of matches to face Chennai Super Kings on 10 May, it turned out to be a highly competitive match. Batting first, Lucknow Super Giants scored 203 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. CSK won the match in the last over. Sanju Samson was out after playing a short innings. It was Urvil Patel who pushed the visiting team on the backfoot. Captain Ruturah Gaikwad patiently supported Urvil Patel’s explosive innings.
CSK won the match by 5 wickets and 4 balls remaining. CSK may have won the match, but the middle order could not perform well.
