Relief Magistrate Rebecca Morley-Kirk considered the case very serious for the Magistrate Court and sent it to the royal court, where the next hearing is scheduled for November 28. Doriga was denied bail and will remain in police custody till that date.
The cricketer was part of the PNG squad participating in the second round of the ongoing CWC Challenge League on Doriga Island.

Kipalin Doriga has been a regular player in Papua New Guinea Cricket. The 29-year-old wicketkeeper-Bater depicted both 2021 and 2024 T20 World Cup. He is currently part of the squad competing in the second round of the CWC Challenge League.
Doriga started her first class against Hong Kong in the 2015-17 ICC Intercontinental Cup. He made his ODI debut against Scotland in November 2017. The right -handed batsman later played his first T20I match in March 2019.
He has depicted Papua New Guinea at 39 Odis, scoring an average of 20.27, including four half -centuries and the best score of 89*. He has played 38 T20I, scored 350 runs at an average of 13.46, with top scores of 46.

According to a post-courier report, Cricket Papua New Guinea confirmed that Killin was involved in a robbery incident in Doriga Jersey. The board insisted that the matter is personal and will not affect the team’s participation in the ongoing tournament.
The report said, “Cricket Papua New Guinea has confirmed that Bairamundis player Kipalin Doriga was involved in a robbery incident on Monday, August 25, 2025 in Jersey, United Kingdom.”
“Cricket PNG said it is a personal matter and will not affect the team’s ongoing participation in the tournament. Bermundis are committed to fulfilling their visit to Jersey and representing the country in line with the values of the organization.”
