Shubman Gill scored an epic 103 runs
Gill came out to bat in the middle when India put a tremendous pressure in the third innings after losing Yashsvi Jaiswal and Sai Reformson for the first time.
He started his grinding in the middle to motivate India to recover. Gill batted exceptionally well and helped India finish the day 4 days at 174/2 in 63 overs, and was unbeaten at 78*.
He continued his batting talent on day 5 and broke a sensational century in the 83rd over. This ton shattered him many records, and many rated it as their best knock.
Gill finished his innings with a score of 103 off 238 balls with 12 fours, and before that, the last Indian to score a test at Old Trafford in Manchester was Sachin Tendulkar in 1990.
Meanwhile, Gill became the first player to hit his first Test series as captain in four centuries. He also became the second Indian captain to score 700+ runs in a test series, the first Asian and second Indian captain to complete 700 runs in a test series in England.

India cricket is in safe hands – Dinesh Karthik
Speaking on a special BBC Test match, former England spinner Phil Tuffnell appreciated Gill’s beautiful batting. He said:
“Shubman Gill has really batted beautifully, all this is very silky. The ball only kisses in the middle of its bat, especially when he comes forward, and has a very further defense.”
Meanwhile, former India wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik praised Gill for his outstanding performance and said that Indian cricket is in safe hands. He said:
“This young boy from Punjab, installing it in England. There were questions about him as a batsman, and he has kept him on bed. He is outstanding. He has been taken to leadership like a duck for water. India is in a safe hand.”
