Pakistan U19 produced a brilliant performance to win the U19 Asia Cup 2025 by defeating India U19 by a huge margin of 191 runs in the final in Dubai on Sunday (December 21). This is Pakistan’s second U19 Asia Cup title and their first since 2013, when they jointly won the cup with India.
In the final of U19 Asia Cup 2025, Pakistan U19 dominated from the beginning against India U19. Samir Minhas was the star of their title win in Dubai. After being asked to bat first by India U19, Pakistan posted a mammoth target of 347/8 in 50 overs thanks to Minhas’ sensational innings of 172 runs off just 113 balls.

Chasing the target, India U19 were in star form as they lost five wickets inside the first 10 overs, including that of skipper Ayush Mhatre and batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi. The top-order collapse put India on the backfoot and the rest of the batting lineup could not handle the pressure.
Sarfaraz Ahmed behind the destruction of India!!
Deepesh Devendran showed tremendous courage by playing a stormy innings of 36 runs in 16 balls, but he had lost the match long ago. India were eventually bowled out for just 156 runs, giving Pakistan an emphatic 191-run win in the summit clash in Dubai.
The final of the U19 Asia Cup 2025 brought back memories of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final, where Pakistan suffered a heavy defeat in the group stage against India but made a strong comeback to win the final in England.
Interestingly, Pakistan’s Champions Trophy-winning captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is now mentoring this U19 team, making this win even more special for them.
What did Sameer Minhas say after the final?
After the match, Samir Minhas was named Player of the Match for his incredible 172 runs in the final and Player of the Tournament for being the leading run scorer with 471 runs in just five matches.

After winning the award, Minhas said, “It was a good innings; I only had the thought in mind to score runs for the team. There was no pressure for me; I just wanted to play my natural game and I did that. We wanted to bat first because it was like a batting track. Very memorable for me.”
Sunil Joshi heartbroken after India U19’s humiliating defeat in U19 Asia Cup 2025 final
On the other hand, India’s ultra-aggressive approach backfired in the big match. Risky shots by the top order and inability to build partnerships under pressure led to the downfall of the team. This was the second biggest defeat in terms of runs in a U19 Asia Cup final.
The disappointment in the Indian camp was palpable, with the coaches and support staff deeply affected by the heavy defeat. A picture is going viral on social media, in which India U19 head coach Sunil Joshi was seen crying after the sad end to their campaign in UAE.
