Jasprit Bumrah was involved in an exchange with a ground officer just before the start of the third test between India and England on Thursday, 10 July. The Indian pacer inspected the pitch, before he was asked to stay away from the surface of God, and the incident attracted the attention of cricket fans.

Jasprit Bumrah returned to XI to play for the third Test after resting for the Edgbaston match as part of the workload management. He replaced Prasad Krishna in the lineup. Pesar Mohammad Siraj and Akash joined the Deep, who took 17 wickets between them during India’s victory.

The 31 -year -old played the series opener in the Leeds, where he impressed with five wickets in the first innings, but became a wicket -free as England successfully set a target of 371.

India bounced back with a 336 -run win in Edgbaston to level the five -match series. Bumrah returned to the playing XI for the third Test, equally 1–1. He replaced Prasad Krishna, who had performed in the first two matches.

Bumrah currently stages the number 1 position in the ICC Test bowling rankings. Washington Sundar was re -ignored by the team management to retain his place.

What happened when Jasprit Bumrah last played a Test match at Lord’s?

Jasprit Bumrah has played only one Test match at Lord’s in his career. The match took place during the 2021 tour of England, with a series level after a first Test. India was aiming to repeat its 2014 success at the prestigious site.

England took a 27 -run lead after the first innings. However, India strongly bounced in its second innings, announced 298/8 and set a target of 272 for hosts in about 60 overs.

While Bumrah became a wicket-free in the first innings, he gave a match-defying spell in the last day, claiming three important wickets including England captain Joe Root. He ended with impressive figures of 33 for 33 out of 15 overs, playing an important role in India’s memorable 151 -run win.

Overall, Bumrah has enjoyed success in Test matches in England. He has taken 42 wickets in an average 10 tests of 26.47, which includes three five-wicket haws.
