England may have to continue the final test against India without Chris Woakes after maintaining a possible disorganized shoulder on the early day (Thursday, 31 July) at the Oval. Gus Atkinson said that if Vox was able to play another role in the fifth Test match, he would be surprised.
Chris Woakes injured his left shoulder while fielding during the 57th over of India’s innings. Karun Nair took the ball to the previous mid-off, and Vox sprayed the border, making a diving attempt to stop it.
Pesar stopped one four, but landed strangely on his shoulder and was in pain. England Physio Ben Davis came to the ground and used a jumper as a velvet sling before escorting Voki. The injury has expressed concern over their availability for the balance of the match.

Atkinson took two wickets from his 19 overs. If Vox is excluded for the rest of the match, he may have to lead the bowling attack. The remaining bowlers in the lineup collectively show only 18 tests between them.
