A tragic case has come to light from Rajkot, where former Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara’s brother-in-law Jeet Rasikbhai Pabari was found dead after allegedly taking his own life. Police reached the private hospital where doctors confirmed his death and the body was sent for post-mortem.
On November 26, 2024, Jeet Pabri’s former fiancee lodged an FIR at Malviya Nagar police station, alleging that he forced her to have physical relations on the pretext of marriage and later broke off their engagement. Exactly one year later, on November 26, 2025, Pabari died by suicide.

According to the report of Bhaskar English, after the incident, the police took Jeet Pabari to a nearby private hospital, but the doctors declared him dead. His body has been sent for post-mortem and officials say the exact cause and circumstances will become clear after a thorough investigation.
“Cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara’s brother-in-law Jeet Rasikbhai Pabari committed suicide after hanging himself. A team of Malviyanagar police reached a private hospital, where doctors declared him dead. His body will be sent for post-mortem and necessary legal procedures will be taken,” the report said.
According to reports, Zeenat was suffering from depression for some time. He had been accused of rape earlier also. The girl was repeatedly threatened in the name of cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara. He also alleged that Zeenat assaulted him after the engagement.
Cheteshwar Pujara’s in-laws are from Jamjodhpur, now settled in Rajkot.
Cheteshwar Pujara’s in-laws originally hail from Jamjodhpur, but the family has been settled in Rajkot for about twenty years, where they run a cotton ginning business. His wife Pooja Pabari is from this family.
Pooja was born in Gondal and completed her early schooling at Sophia School in Abu before completing classes 11 and 12 in Ahmedabad. She later moved to Mumbai, where she completed her master’s degree. Before marrying Pujara, she had worked in a multinational company for a year.
Pooja likes to maintain a low profile but is often appreciated for her style and personality. She is six years younger than Pujara, born on 16 September 1993. Professionally, she has completed her MBA in Retail Management, worked as an HR head and is also involved in business.
