Veteran batsman Cheteshwar Pujara recently revealed his 21st joint India-England Test XI, leaving some of the biggest names in cricket. Pujara put former Indian cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni out of their lineup with England veterans Alastair Cook and James Anderson.

India is currently touring England for the five-match Test series, in which the hosts have taken a 2–1 lead after three matches. Pujara, who has not officially retired, is not part of the Indian squad. The experienced batsman last played a Test match against Australia during the 2023 World Test Championship final.

Pujara chose the former players as Alek Stewart and Rahul Dravid as their opener. The experienced batsman ignored notable names like Alastair Cook, Rohit Sharma, Gautam Gambhir and Murali Vijay.

He chose Stewart not only for his batting credentials, but also as the team’s wicketkeeper. Stewart played 133 Tests, scoring 8,463 runs over 15 centuries. Dravid, who participated at the top Stewart, depicted 164 tests for India and scored 13,288 runs including 36 centuries.

Cheteshwar Pujara is Sachin Tendulkar in United India-England Test XI

Cheteshwar Pujara created a combined middle order in his United India-England Test XI. The 37 -year -old chose Joe Root, Virat Kohli and VVS Laxman.

The root, which is still active and part of the current series, has scored 13,259 runs in 156 tests including 37 centuries. Kohli, who recently retired from Test cricket, played 123 matches and scored 9,230 runs with 30 hundreds. Laxman scored 8,781 runs in 134 tests with 17 centuries during his career.

In particular, the root claims record for the highest runs in Indo-England tests, with 3,099 runs in 33 matches at an impressive average of 57.38. It is worth noting that Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni were released from Xi.

Cheteshwar Pujara chooses four all-rounders in the United India-England Test XI

Cheteshwar Pujara finalized his 21st century joint India-England Test XI by selecting a group of all-rounders and bowlers. He opted for four all -rounders: England’s Ben Stokes and Andrew Flintoff, India’s Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, who also serve as two spinners.

To lead the speed attack, Pujara chose Indian fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. Former England’s Emper Matthew Hoggard was named the 12th person.

In particular, Ravichandran Ashwin is going to take India’s leading wickets against England this century, on an average with 114 wickets in 24 matches 27.72.
