Arshdeep Singh has been extensively briefed on keeping Vaibhav Suryavanshi under control as Punjab Kings (PBKS) are set to face Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 40th match of the ongoing Tata Indian Premier League 2026 (Tata IPL 2026) on Tuesday, April 28, at Mullanpur.
Ahead of this IPL 2026 clash between PBKS and RR, all eyes are on 15-year-old opening batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has taken the tournament by storm with his fearless batting and incredible confidence against world-class bowlers at such a young age.
Arshdeep Singh gets a clear game plan to stop Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s storm in PBKS vs RR IPL 2026 clash
Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become the biggest headache for the bowlers in the ongoing IPL 2026. His confidence, shot selection and aggressive mindset have made him one of the most dangerous batsmen this season.

In the last match against SRH, the left-handed batsman sent a strong message to the rival teams moving forward in the tournament by scoring an explosive century in 36 balls. Now, all nine teams are desperate to stop the glory this season.
Ahead of the PBKS vs RR clash on Tuesday, Cheteshwar Pujara has shared a clear plan to deal with the young star. He believes that Arshdeep Singh will need to be very disciplined with his line and length rather than trying to do anything to keep the young gun quiet.
Cheteshwar Pujara shares a smart strategy to keep Vaibhav Suryavanshi calm in Mullanpur
“Arshdeep, I think being a left-arm fast bowler, he will come on top of the stumps for Vaibhav. He has to make sure that he bowls on the middle and off stump plans, where the ball is going away from him,” Cheteshwar Pujara said on Star Sports’ Game Plan show.
We have seen that when Moshin was bowling against Vaibhav, he got that success against him. Arshdeep will also have to do something similar.”
Pujara further added, “Try to bowl back of length on the middle and off-stump line. Try to hit that channel more often, and also try to use his slower balls because Arshdeep has very good slower balls. Try to use yorkers in between if necessary. But in the beginning, I think the first four or five balls, just try to hit that back of length on middle and off stump.”

Arshdeep Singh, Marco Johnson and Xavier Bartlett warned Vaibhav Suryavanshi
However, Pujara made it clear that even with a solid plan, it will not be easy to stop Vaibhav Suryavanshi, as the young player has been in excellent form this season. He has already scored 357 runs in eight matches at an average of over 40 and an explosive strike rate of over 230.
He also revealed that Vaibhav enjoys batting on good pitches and likes to attack quality bowlers without any fear, so Arshdeep Singh, Marco Johnson and Xavier Bartlett will be his main targets in Mullanpur. He also feels that Bartlett will be under pressure after his poor performance against DC.
Pujara said, “I think the way Vaibhav batted in the last game was fantastic. He scored 100 runs. So hopefully he will continue to bat like this because on good pitches he likes to face the bowlers. We have to do the same against Arshdeep and Marco Johnson. Bartlett did not bowl well in the last game. He gave away more than 50 runs; I think it will be closer to 60 against Delhi.” So, he will do it.” You are under a little pressure, so try to use it.”
