Cameron Green to miss Bangladesh series: Australia national cricket team has reached a new low after losing the series 2-1 against Bangladesh national cricket team. They won the third and final ODI by a narrow margin of one wicket against Bangla Tigers to avoid a clean sweep. However, the next task for the Kangaroos is the T20I series as it is scheduled to begin on Wednesday.
But ahead of the T20I series, the Men in Yellow have been dealt a blow as their star all-rounder Cameron Green has pulled out of the T20Is as he prepares for the Test series in August, according to Code Sports. The Australian team has to play a Test series against the same opponent on home ground, which is scheduled to start from August 13.

Cameron Green’s 2026 Review
Cameron Green has not been in good form in recent times across all formats. The all-rounder had a good run in the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season with his new franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after he was bought for a hefty price of Rs 25.20 crore. He could score only 322 runs at an average of over 30 and a strike rate of 145.70 and took 7 wickets.
Green scored only 104 runs in three innings in this series, in one of which his score was 52 not out. However, he has had a relatively struggling year in terms of the shorter format, where in seven matches he has scored only 117 runs with an average of less than 20 and a strike rate falling to 123, and only two runs in four innings at an average of 35.50 and an economy of around 10.
Nikhil Chaudhary will replace Cameron Green
Australia has not announced a replacement for Cameron Green. Hopefully they will replace him with an all-rounder or batsman as well, as in subcontinent conditions with spin-friendly wickets in T20I games, the Australians have struggled to get going and they need someone to play the middle overs.

With Cameron Green pulling out, it will pave the way for a debut for Nikhil Chaudhary as the Delhi-born all-rounder could become the first Indian-origin man to play for Australia in over 60 years. The Hobart Hurricanes cricketer was named in the T20I series against Bangladesh. He will provide some hard-hitting skills in the middle overs with his leg spin bowling.
Mitchell Marsh returns to the team
Australia’s regular captain Mitchell Marsh will return to the team after missing the ODI series due to injury and it will be a big boost for the team as the top order has faltered in the last few series against Pakistan and Bangladesh respectively.
Additionally, there will be a return for Travis Head, who was rested after a tiring performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The Kangaroos will also get a boost with the addition of the southpaw at the top of the order.
