Kolkata Knight Riders looked unstoppable during their successful chase of 143 against Delhi Capitals as Allen played one of the most devastating innings of the season.
The aggressive opener remained unbeaten on 100 off just 47 balls and helped KKR defeat DC by eight wickets with 34 balls to spare. The win was KKR’s fourth consecutive win, keeping their playoff hopes alive in IPL 2026.

Although Alan received all the attention, cameron greenHis role during the chase was appreciated and the Australian all-rounder was happy with his efforts in helping his KKR teammates reach the feat. Notably, Green (33 runs off 27 balls) and Allen together added 116 runs.

Green said that he enjoyed watching the carnage from the non-strikers and called it one of those rare moments that players only get to experience a few times in their careers.
Cameron Green said in the post-match presentation about Allen’s century: “Very special. I think you only get a chance to be at the other end a few times in your career, so this is one of them.”
On his conversation with the New Zealand player during the match-winning stand, Australian all-rounder Cameron Green said, “Nothing really. I think, Finn, he just said, ‘See you next time.’ So, yes, that’s basically what I tried to do. I was just playing second fiddle at the other end.”

Green revealed that he had already started counting the runs required when KKR were close to victory. As Allen was nearing a special milestone, Green did not want to spoil the moment by taking too high a bet or ending the match himself. Even the Australian star joked that KKR fans would have never forgiven Allen if he had denied him a century.
He signed off by saying, “I think I did the maths when we had 29 points to get. So yes, I knew if I did anything other than that I would be the most hated person in Kolkata. No, we weren’t (on the calculation). I was; I did the maths. But no, the Finn is very good at maths too, so I’ll give him credit for that. So, maybe, that’s probably what he was doing. Winning, that’s been the most satisfying.”
Despite being signed by KKR for a record ₹25.20 crore, Green has had an ordinary season so far, scoring 232 runs in 10 matches at an average of 33 and a strike rate of around 147. He also took four wickets. In the ongoing 2026 season, KKR will next face RCB on May 13 in Raipur.
