The 19th edition of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 tournament got off to a great start. However, even before the tournament has started, many teams are facing injury problems and many players have been ruled out of the tournament due to major injuries. Now a new injury has been registered with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
Ahead of SRH’s next match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens, SRH’s England fast bowler Bryden Carse is unlikely to play in the KKR vs SRH clash as the hand injury sustained during practice is yet to fully heal, reports Cricbuzz. However, he did not play the first game against defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). But the Orange Army is facing another injury problem.

One change to the team was likely to be Brayden Carse, who could play as the Eden Gardens pitch is suitable for fast bowlers and produces good bounce, so he may get the nod as he is a hit-the-deck bowler and can also swing the new ball. SRH played with Ishan Malinga as the fourth overseas player in their last game.
SRH’s regular captain Pat Cummins has joined the squad; However, he has not been included in the playing eleven due to a back injury suffered before the Ashes series. Cummins will not be able to play a few more matches before joining the team and he is likely to take over the captaincy from Ishan Kishan.
Earlier, head coach Daniel Vettori had spoken on Brayden Carse’s injury, “He got hit by a ball in the nets on his hand when he was batting, on his bowling hand,” Vettori had said after the SRH-RCB game. “It was cleared of any breaks, but there was a lot of swelling, and he tried to force the play, but it was difficult for him to catch the ball.”
“He [Brydon Carse] He is improving, so we are hopeful that he will be available for selection against Kolkata,” Vettori said.
