Brisbane Heat achieved the biggest run chase in BBL history, achieved the target of 258 runs, Renshaw and Wildermuth scored centuries.

Brisbane Heat on Friday (December 19) stunned everyone with one of the greatest run chases in the history of the Big Bash League (BBL). In the sixth game of the ongoing BBL 2025-26 at the Gabba, Brisbane, Brisbane Heat, chasing a huge target of 258 runs, defeated Perth Scorchers by eight wickets.

Jack Wildermuth and Matt Renshaw produced a batting performance that will be remembered for years. Wildermuth remained unbeaten on a sensational 110, while Renshaw scored a brilliant 102, helping Brisbane Heat achieve one of the most impossible targets in BBL history.

Brisbane Heat created history and achieved a historic feat in the Big Bash League.

In the Big Bash League 2025-26 match on Friday, both Heat and Scorchers combined to give a magnificent 515 runs and 36 sixes and gave the crowd at the Gabba the joy of fearless hitting, clean strikes and non-stop entertainment. This is the biggest run chase ever in the history of BBL.

Moreover, for the first time in T20 cricket history, two batsmen scored centuries while chasing the target. Brisbane Heat’s successful target is now the third highest successful target in T20. This match also saw the highest number of 36 sixes hit in a single BBL game.

Wildermuth and Renshaw recorded the biggest partnership ever in a BBL match as the two batsmen completely took the game away from the opposition by putting on a brilliant 212-run stand for the second wicket in just 95 balls at the Gabba.

Another record is held by Wildermuth and Renshaw, the first time two centuries have been scored in the same match in the Big Bash League.
