In a major development, five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have included Aakash Madhwal as a replacement for Ayush Mhatre for the remainder of IPL 2026.
Under-19 World Cup-winning captain Ayush Mhatre was looking in great form for CSK in IPL 2026, but he suffered a hamstring injury against Sunrisers Hyderabad, ruling him out of the competition.
CSK has included Akash Madhwal in the team in place of Ayush Mhatre.
32-year-old Akash Madhwal, who has previously represented Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), has joined CSK for his base price of Rs 30 lakh.
