Kiran More comments on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s ODI future
Speaking to ANI, former India selector Kiran More strongly supported both Rohit Sharma And despite constant retirement talk among senior stars, Virat Kohli will continue to play ODI cricket.
Morey made it clear that players of his quality should not be sidelined simply because of age, especially when they are still performing consistently at the highest level.
He said, “Both of them are legends and it is a pleasure to watch both of them play. There should be no talk about retiring them. As long as they perform well and are fit, they should play. As long as their feet are moving and their bats are scoring runs, they should play. I love watching both of them play. There are many fans who like these two special players. When Sachin retired, I had tears in my eyes. When these two go, He will also be missed a lot. When that time comes, he will take a decision.” Said.

BCCI no longer views Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as before.
Even though both players remain central figures in Indian cricket, recent reports suggest that the BCCI no longer sees Kohli and Rohit in the same league with regard to future plans.
According to a report in Times of India, BCCI is confident about this Virat KohliODI future But concerns are growing over Rohit Sharma’s long-term fitness ahead of the 2027 World Cup.
The report claims that the selectors are concerned about whether Rohit will be physically able to maintain top fitness levels for another major ICC cycle. Even though Rohit has been selected for the upcoming ODI series against Afghanistan, his participation is subject to strict fitness clearance.
However, Virat Kohli’s situation looks very different. The former India captain has continued to maintain elite fitness standards and remains one of the most consistent ODI batsmen in world cricket. His workload management also seems to be quite smooth as compared to Rohit in the last few years.
As a result, the BCCI reportedly sees Virat as a safe long-term option for the 2027 World Cup, while Rohit’s future may largely depend on his fitness management next year.
