Speaking after winning the toss and protesting for batting first, Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan said that he is focusing on giving his best in the Asia Cup 2025 and forgotten about the final defeat of the Tri-series against Pakistan. He said:
“We want to bat first. It looks like a good wicket to score on the board; a good total bowlers on the board will help. It does not matter in T20 whether you win the toss or not, but you have to give the best chance to take wickets in the mid -term.
“This (TRAI -Searies Final) is already behind us, we are focusing well on the game today, even if we have won the final, we must have focused on the game today and how to win. The final misses just a change – Darwish misses and Gulbadin is back.”
Meanwhile, Hong Kong captain Yasim Murtaza said that he has played good cricket for a long time and would like to continue speed. He said:
“We wanted to bowl first. I am happy to bowl. We worked hard to reach here. We played good cricket in the qualifier. As a captain I am eager to see how Kalhan Chalu will do on the big stage.”
