Birmingham Phoenix have been dealt a major blow as Bangladesh’s star fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has been ruled out of The Hundred 2026 due to a serious knee and hamstring injury.

This is a huge blow for Birmingham Phoenix, who signed the left-arm pacer for £100,000 in the player auction. Mustafizur suffered the injury while bowling in Bangladesh’s first ODI against Zimbabwe.
Later, medical scans confirmed a Grade 1 injury to his right hamstring. This injury added to his troubles, exacerbating an existing meniscus problem in his right knee. Due to these fitness issues, Rahman will now miss the entire 2026 season of The Hundred as he focuses on recovery and rehabilitation.
