A wonderful work to get through overs – Ben Stokes put Jofra Archer

Ben Stokes won the Player of the Match Award for his sensational all-round performance (44, 2/63, 33 and 3/48) in the Lord’s Test match against India.

Talking to Michael Etharton after the match, Ben Stokes revealed why he chose to bowl with himself and Joff Archer in 5 days despite the fiery magic of Bridan Cars on day 4. He praised Archer for Shining in his first Test match on his return. Ben Stokes Detailed:

“It was (extraordinary finish). It was actually part of the reason I went to Joff and I went with myself this morning, now it’s 6 years (2019 WC victory) .. Jofof played a major role in it, just one of the feelings that she would do special and she opened the game with 2 wickets.”

“It was not an easy call, there was a little discussion in the dressing room. Bridan (Cars) had a wonderful magic last night, he was charging and was a very good rhythm, but it was a feeling of an intestine, the first match of Joff comes back in the Test team and sometimes it is very good. But he got some important wickets.”

Ben Stokes confirmed that Shoaib Bashir broke a finger

Ben Stokes further confirmed that spinner Shoaib Bashir broke his finger and was dropped from the Manchester Test match.

“I thought I had taken some very dark places before .. But bowling to win a Test match for my country today .. If you don’t get it then I don’t know what he does. Bashir, broken hand (finger) is going there and is taking responsibility with the bat, then coming out and the final wicket to do so, the absolute warrior,” Ban Stokes said.

Finally, Ben Stokes talked about how he gave a big time in Lord’s Test match. Ben Stokes said that the amazing direct-hit he produced to send Rishabh Pant back, and then he took maximum advantage of the opportunities given as an all-targeter and performed well for his country. He explained in detail:

“What was it today and what was on the line, yesterday it was a little different because it was more cricket to play, I took myself out of there, I was cooked yesterday to be honest, but was on the game line and nothing was stopping me.

“I am an all -rounder, I get four opportunities to impress the game, one of the great things to be an all -rounder is that if one thing does not click enough, you have another. I had a significant spell bowling, I was very important, I was very important, it was a very important situation on the extra cover, it was one of those things, I stuttered the ball in my circumstances,

“The larger part of the game, Rishabh played really well, we all know how dangerous he could be and the wicket was a big man this morning and Jofra was a man to do so. It was always going to be a case, two very good teams had to go to the toe in this game, could not wait to go to bed for four days.”
