Rishabh Pant targeted by England
On the day 1 of the Manchester Test match against England, Rishabh Pant faced a leg injury during the 68th over and was forced to hurt after scoring 37 runs.
Pants tried to play a predetermined reverse sweep from Chris Woakes and reduced the ball on their boot. The leg shock in the leg left the wicketkeeper-batsman in pain, and was taken out of the ground in a small car.
The scan further revealed that Pant had fractured his leg, and the BCCI said that he would not keep it in the rest of the game. However, the board mentioned that the pants would run to bat when needed.
The need of Shardul Thakur in the 102nd over eventually arose after the dismissal. Rishabh Pant slowly went down the stairs and obtained a standing ovation from the Manchester crowd as he made his way in the middle.
After reaching the crease, Pant was in the discomfort, and he was struggling to run between the wickets. England showed no pity towards the Indian star, and were seen brutally targeting their injured leg.
The English captain Ben Stokes was carefully observed while observing the legs of the pants and then decided to target him with a barrage of Yorker-Lambi delivery. Stokes did not stop there because he was seen making fun of pants, who was pretending to be smiling and pointing on his watch, accusing the wicketkeeper-batsman of wasting time.
Joffra Archer followed the suit, and he hit the pants fractured leg directly. He was not very successful, however, wicketkeeper-batsman punished him with a brilliant six.

The English bowling attack consistently targeted the injured leg of the pants, in his so -called clothes, the audience instigated a 25 -year -old Gill to bat yesterday. If someone said “England play with the soul,” I will laugh at his face.

If you are not looking, then PL. Pant is probably the most courageous with an Indian cricketer to bat with a broken toe after bowling Kumble at Y with a broken jaw.
Stokes aim to that right toe, I think how this unforgivable game is played …#INDVSENG– Shekhar Gupta (@Shekhargupta) July 24, 2025
This is a body blow – Ravi Shastri on Pant’s injury
Speaking on Sky Sports, former India head coach Ravi Shastri said that pants injury is a body blow for visitors and it will affect the Indian dressing room. Shastri also said that England would not be to deal with Pant’s danger.
“This is a body blow. It will affect the dressing room, as they must have lost a batsman for the game – not only for this innings, but also for the next innings. If India reaches a tight position, his services will be required. He is a player, as well as the way he plays, the way he opposed, the way he opposed the opposition.”
“From the point of view of England, they think ‘at least we can control the game now’. In the middle there are no men to sleep the night, they no longer have that headache,” Shastri was called as a broadcast of Sky Sports, which was aired before the game of two.
