Yashasvi Jaiswal gets out after playing a brilliant knock
Opening the innings with KL Rahul, Jaiswal looked great in the middle, and he played with great intentions. Jaswal did not face any trouble while batting against Chris Woakes, Josh Tongue, Bridan Cars, Ben Stokes and Shoaib Bashir.
He formed an initial 91 -run partnership with KL Rahul, which was the fourth largest in Indian cricket history in the first innings of the first test of a distant tour.
Even after losing his early partner in the 25th over, he kept getting stronger and set his eyes on a big score. He completed his fifty off 96 balls and a ton from 144 balls. Jaiswal performed an off-side masterclass during his innings, as only 9 out of his first 100 runs were made on the leg side.
After reaching a three-stake mark, Jaiswal was absolutely happy, and he celebrated aggressively. He also received a permanent ovation from the crowd and the Indian dressing room.
Meanwhile, on the third ball of the 53rd over, Ben Stokes dismissed Jaiswal and chose a big wicket for his side. He delivered a length from a wide angle, and Jaiswal went to a drive under the ground.
The ball defeated the outside of Jaiswal’s bat and hit the stumps and sent the batsman’s packing on 159 balls for 101 runs, with 16 fours and 1 six.
