Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya once again grabbed the headlines with his remarkable all-round performances in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. However, Hardik Pandya had raised many eyebrows when he put his body on stake even before the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
Despite not having BCCI COE approval, Hardik Pandya bowled full 10 overs in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26.
Despite being rested for the upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand, the Baroda all-rounder produced his best performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 against Chandigarh at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on January 8.

Pandya bowled the full 10 overs and took three important wickets for 66 runs, although he “did not have BCCI COE approval to bowl that many overs for the ODI team.” This bold move could put the Indian all-rounder at risk of injury and force the BCCI to take action.

Interestingly, Hardik’s brother and Baroda captain Krunal Pandya bowled only eight overs while the rest of the attack bowled five to six overs against Chandigarh. Well, Hardik’s bold decision paid off as he helped Baroda register a massive 149-run win over Chandigarh in the Vijay Hazare clash.
Thanks to Hardik Pandya’s inning of 75 runs, Baroda defeated Chandigarh by 149 runs.
Before his impressive spell, the Indian all-rounder dismantled the Chandigarh attack with the bat. Hardik played a stormy inning of 75 runs in just 31 balls with the help of nine sixes and two fours, giving Baroda a huge lead during their innings.
Apart from Hardik’s explosive innings, Priyanshu Moliya scored 113 runs in 106 balls, while Vishnu Solanki scored 54 runs and helped Baroda post a huge score of 391 on the board. Ninad Rathwa also scored a crucial 38 against Chandigarh in Rajkot.
Chasing a huge target, Chandigarh was all out for 242 runs, giving Baroda a huge 149-run win in the Vijay Hazare Trophy match. Shivam Bhambri scored a century for Chandigarh, while Taranpreet Singh scored 44 runs. The rest of the batting lineup could not even cross the 20-run mark.
Pandya’s Vijay Hazare magic and Baroda’s dominance
For Baroda, Hardik and Mahesh Pithiya took three wickets each, while Rasikh Salam got two wickets. With this win, Baroda moved up to third place in the Elite Group B points table with 20 points and a healthy net run rate of +0.712 from seven matches, while losing only two matches.

Well, this was not the first time that Hardik has made a splash in the ongoing 50-over tournament. Earlier in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the Indian all-rounder had scored his maiden List-A century in just 68 balls against Vidarbha. With this all-round masterclass, Pandya has sent a clear message ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 that he is ready to rock on the big stage.
