According to the latest reports, Suryakumar Yadav’s place as India’s T20I captain is threatened with the emergence of Shubman Gill, and may be dismissed soon instead of later.

According to a report by The Indian Express, the BCCI selector and Gautam Gambhir are eager to the groom Shubman Gill as the next T20I captain as Suryakumar Yadav will turn 35 next month.
The discussion about the case took place during the Asia Cup squad selection meeting, and Gill was “consumed most of the time” before being identified as the “most qualified candidate”.

Another PTI report claimed that the BCCI sent a clear message to Suryakumar Yadav as a vice-captain with Gill’s appointment that it needs to pursue his game.
