Mumbai Indians batting coach Kieron Pollard has been fined 15% of his match fee and also given one demerit point after the match between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings.
Mumbai Indians are currently at ninth position in the points table. Facing Punjab Kings in the last game in Dharamshala, the Jasprit Bumrah-led MI team managed to register their fourth win of the season. However, this win is a consolation win for the team which is already out of the playoff race.

Why has Kieron Pollard been fined in the PBKS vs MI match?
Despite registering another promising win while chasing the target of 200+ in IPL 2026, BCCI has imposed a hefty fine of 15% of the match fee on Mumbai Indians batting coach Kieron Pollard, besides giving him one demerit point.
Pollard was said to have breached Level 1 of the IPL code of conduct during his team’s fourth win of the season. “Pollard was found to have violated Article 2.3 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which deals with ‘use of audible obscenity during a match’,” a BCCI statement on Friday said.
The incident occurred during MI’s 19th over when Pollard misbehaved with the fourth umpire. He pleaded guilty and accepted the sanctions imposed by match referee Pankaj Dharmani.
Jasprit Bumrah won his first match as MI captain
After Suryakumar Yadav was also dropped from the team following consistent poor performances this season, legendary Indian fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah was handed the captaincy of Mumbai Indians for the first time.
Taking over the captaincy for the first time, the MI veteran led them to victory. He can be seen in the role of captain after Hardik Pandya is removed from the captaincy in the upcoming season. Once again Bumrah did not get any wicket in the match, while his bowling missed catches.
However, Tilak Verma’s brilliant innings with the bat and a brilliant cameo from Will Jacques at the end helped MI achieve their eighth 200+ target in IPL history.
PBKS suffer massive collapse in race for IPL 2026 playoffs
Despite being out of the race for the IPL 2026 playoffs, MI are now aiming to finish slightly higher than the bottom two places in the points table. On Thursday, Punjab Kings lost their fifth consecutive match in the season.
This current phase in the IPL for Punjab Kings began after ending their seven-match undefeated streak in this IPL. Since then they are currently in fourth place with only 13 points.
