Sony is facing sports network backlash after releasing the promotional advertisement for the upcoming India vs Pakistan Clash at the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 starting on 9 September in the UAE. The India vs Pakistan clash in the tournament is scheduled on 14 September in Dubai, UAE.
The reason behind the teaser is the characteristics of India captain Suryakumar Yadav, Pakistan’s Pesar Shaheen Afridi, and former legend Virender Sehwag, which is to campaign on India vs Pakistan Clash. But this has raised anger on social media, fans have strongly demanded a boycott of the game.

Now, after releasing the promotional advertisement for India vs Pakistan sports, he warned to boycott both the tournament and Sony Sports Network on social media.

As fans misused BCCI, ICC President J Shah and Government of India, tension around the India vs Pakistan encounter has only intensified. He also slammed the Sony Sports Network to agree to show games on TV and digital platforms.
He has also targeted Virender Sehwag to promote the match. Despite the ruckus, Sehwag is confident of India’s opportunities in the tournament.

Virender Sehwag predicted India’s success in Asia Cup 2025
Virender Sehwag said in a video posted by Sony Sports Network on social media, “We are world champions. We only won the World Cup and T20 World Cup, and I am sure we are the best teams in the Asia Cup, and hopefully we will win the Asia Cup.”
The former Indian opener further said, “I think we have a very good side, and Sky is moving from the front, and he is a top player in the T20 format. I am sure under his captaincy, we will do well because we have seen in the past that when Akash has won T20 games, and I am sure we will win the Asia Cup.”

Men in blue to start Asia Cup campaign against UAE
Meanwhile, men have been drafted in Group A for Asia Cup 2025 with UAE, Pakistan and Oman in Blue. The Indian team will shut down their campaign against the UAE on September 10 on September 10 before facing their biggest rivals, Pakistan, and will wrap the group stage with a confrontation against Oman on 19 September in Abu Dhabi.
This will be the first major event of Suryakumar Yadav as India’s full -time T20I captain, riding high hopes on him as the team has targeted for their ninth Asia Cup title. Their fitness will be important, not only to lead the side but also to their performance in the tournament.
