The long-running Asia Cup trophy dispute was discussed during the International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting in Dubai, but not formally.
Despite the fact that the issue of the Asia Cup trophy was not part of the official agenda, the ICC arranged a behind-closed-doors meeting between BCCI and PCB officials.

According to reports, ICC deputy chairman Imran Khawaja and CEO Sanjog Gupta came forward to mediate the talks between BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia and PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Both the parties were requested to settle the dispute as soon as possible and they agreed to this.

A correspondent of Dainik Jagran claimed that ICC has decided not to form any special committee for the Asia Cup trophy dispute. Instead, Saikia and Naqvi will now exchange some proposals with each other on this matter in the coming days.
Once both parties agree on a suitable option, that decision will be considered final. The move could finally end the long-running 2025 Asia Cup trophy dispute.

Meanwhile, BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia confirmed that he had an informal meeting with the PCB and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chairman Mohsin Naqvi on the sidelines of the ICC meetings in Dubai. He said that there were friendly talks between the two boards and it was agreed to resolve the trophy issue soon.
The Times of India quoted Devjit Saikia as saying, “We held an informal meeting with PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi. Since it was not part of the official agenda, the ICC arranged a discussion. We are grateful to the ICC for attempting to resolve the issue.”
There was a cordial discussion between both the parties and it was agreed to resolve the matter as soon as possible. The ice has broken. We had several meetings in the last few days and discussed many important issues in detail.
