BCCI releases official statement on Australia’s exclusion from T20 World Cup 2026; Rajasthan Royals became cruel

Cricket has dealt a major blow, as mighty Australia is officially out of the T20 World Cup 2026. This means a World Cup without Australia is now a reality at the Super 8 stage.

Australia out of T20 World Cup 2026

The 2021 champions lost in spectacular fashion and fans around the world are still trying to digest it. Australia’s campaign in Group B fell apart. Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka have made it to the next round, while the Mitchell Marsh-led side never found its rhythm.

First, they suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Zimbabwe. Then Sri Lanka crushed them. But the final blow was delivered in a dramatic manner. The rain-hit match between Ireland and Zimbabwe decided Australia’s fate. With that only game affected by rain, the Australian team was officially out.

Rajeev Shukla’s cheeky post goes viral after Australia’s shock exit

After the shocking blow, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) – the co-host of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 – did not remain silent. BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla addressed the Ex and expressed his shock in his cheeky style.

Shukla said that it is unbelievable and no one thought that Australia would be eliminated. He said that this is the real beauty of cricket, where anything can happen. He also tagged the International Cricket Council (ICC) in his viral post.

The BCCI vice-president posted,

Rajasthan Royals showed brutality and made fun of Australia with their viral line of Pat Cummins.

And then Rajasthan Royals decided to spice things up. The IPL franchise posted a picture of Australian captain Pat Cummins from the 2023 ODI World Cup and used his own famous line to make fun of the situation. Cummins’ famous line in the photo was, “Yeah, sad to see that.”

In fact, Cummins had used the same line while reacting to England’s early exit from the 2023 ODI World Cup in India. Asked if he was heartbroken to see England struggle, Cummins smiled and said, “Yeah, it was sad to see,” before laughing.

Ian Healy furious at Australia’s shock exit

Meanwhile, Australia’s early exit from the T20 World Cup 2026 has not gone down well with veteran wicketkeeper Ian Healy. The Australian giants were furious with the team’s shocking campaign. Healy felt that Australia placed too much confidence in their powerful team without considering the difficult and slow conditions of Sri Lanka and India.

“Okay, let’s see if we can analyze it,” Healy said on SEN Cricket. “The Australian team got thrashed in the early stages of the World Cup, which is more than likely. Like England cricket before the Ashes, you know, we were betrayed. If ever there was criticism, there was defiance.

There was a denial that we could go wrong when we had picked a strong team to play in the difficult conditions of Sri Lanka and India. And we were confident that we would be right. The selection mess happened a year ago, where they really prioritized power over batting, overconfidence, overpatience and then forgot about form and what could possibly have been.
