The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the full list of players ready to bid in the Women’s Premier League 2026 mega auction. According to a statement from the Indian Cricket Board, the much-awaited auction will take place on Thursday, November 27, 2025 in New Delhi.
A total of 17 players, including seven foreigners, have been retained by the five WPL franchises. The teams will have a purse of ₹41.1 crore for the auction. UP Warriors have the biggest purse of ₹14.5 crore after retaining only one player. Defending champions Mumbai Indians will enter the auction with ₹5.75 crore.
BCCI releases full players list for WPL 2026 mega auction
A total of 277 cricketers have been shortlisted for the 2026 auction. Of them, 194 Indian players are competing for 50 spots, while the remaining 23 vacancies can be filled with foreign talent. The auction will begin at 3:30 PM IST with the key set of players.
“The Tata WPL 2026 auction list has been announced, with a total of 277 players competing for the 73 available slots, with the auction taking place on November 27 in New Delhi,” a WPL statement said.
“The auction list includes 194 Indian players, comprising 52 capped and 142 uncapped players, who will be bid for 50 slots, while 66 foreign capped players and 17 foreign uncapped players will look to fill the 23 available slots,” the statement said.
Deepti Sharma, Laura Wolvaardt and Alyssa Healy in marquee player lineup
Deepti Sharma (India), Renuka Singh (India), Sophie Devine (New Zealand), Sophie Ecclestone (England), Alyssa Healy (Australia), Amelia Kerr (New Zealand), Meg Lanning (Australia), and Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa) are part of the core group of players.
There are 19 players in the ₹50 lakh bracket, 11 players in the ₹40 lakh bracket and 88 names in the ₹30 lakh bracket. Most of the members of the marquee group have listed themselves at a maximum base price of ₹50 lakh. However, Renuka Singh has entered for ₹40 lakh and Wolvaardt for ₹30 lakh.
The overseas group is full of elite performers, including some of the world’s best all-rounders, spinners and wicketkeeper-batsmen. Notably, the marquee list is expected to attract major attention when the bidding for the WPL 2026 season begins.
The WPL auction pool includes two players from UAE and one each from Thailand and USA
India has the highest representation, while Australia is at second place with 23 names. There are 22 players from England, 13 from New Zealand and 11 from South Africa in the list. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka each have three shortlisted players, UAE have two, and Thailand and USA have one representative each.
Teams will enter the auction with different purse amounts and Right to Match (RTM) options. Gujarat Giants have a purse of ₹9 crore, while Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals have ₹6.15 crore and ₹5.70 crore respectively.
UP Warriors have four RTM cards available, Gujarat Giants have three and RCB have one. Mumbai and Delhi have retained their full quota of five players, but have no RTM left. DC retained Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues, both of whom played key roles in India’s World Cup title win.
