Former England spinner Monty Panesar has reviewed the recently concluded Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy between India and England on the performance of Mohammad Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah in 2025. The five-match Test series ended 2–2 earlier this week.
Panesar has explained how Mohammad Siraj not only carried out India’s attack in the five -match testing series, but also excluded Jasprit Bumrah with his fitness, fire and sheer hunger.
He also mentioned that Sirj bowled over 180 overs in the Test series, while India’s so-called X-Factor, Bumrah, could manage only three tests due to workload management.

Siraj tirelessly alleged and ended the five -match test series as a leading wicket -taker with 23 wickets. However, Jasprit Bumrah played only three Tests, but he still impressed with 14 wickets.

He insisted that if Gautam Gambhir and Shubman Gill want to dominate abroad, then it is not Bumrah, but is Siraj which now keeps the key. Monty said, “As Bumrah has an ex-factor, Mohammad Siraj is the key to whether he has a chain win or not. Therefore, for a foreign chain away from India, Mohammad Siraj is now very important for Gautam Gambhir and Shubman Gill.”

Keep Jasprit Bumrah for foreign trials, India does not need it at home: Monty Panesar
Meanwhile, Monty also said that the young Indian cricket team could not seal the test series in England despite having an upper hand for 25 days.
In addition, the former England spinner suggested that India kept Jasprit Bumrah fresh for foreign trials, as they have enough firepower to win the match without him, but when it comes to hard tourism, his X-Factor becomes important and he is really irreversible.
Panesar signed, saying, “I think it’s good if he plays a foreign test match, and perhaps you don’t need him for home Test matches. India may probably defeat any team at home without him, but for foreign trials, he is an ex-factor. They may probably tell him that we do not need home testing. But we do surely, we do sure.”
