The India National Cricket Team is ready to break its age -old tradition before the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 starting on 9 September at UAE. The 15-member squad led by Suryakumar Yadav is currently ready for the Continental tournament in Bengaluru.
Men in Blue are likely to reach Dubai on 4 September, as their Asia Cup 2025 campaign is running against UAE in Dubai on 10 September. Almost all the players of the squad have approved their fitness test for the upcoming tournament at the BCCI’s Center of Excellence.
India’s Asia Cup 2025 Squad to reach Dubai directly from domestic cities by 4 September
Well, this time, the India National cricket team is going against the tradition. So far, all Indian players must first gather at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai, and they are used to travel together on the same flight except special matters.

But for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, Indian players will fly directly from their respective cities to Dubai, making the journey smooth and more convenient. However, the 15-member squad will have to stay in Dubai by the evening of 4 September.
His first net session has been set at the ICC Academy in Dubai on 5 September, which gave him a few days for the tournament and a few days to prepare for fine-tune. This change in the arrangement of travel has been made to reduce unnecessary transit and fatigue.
BCCI Asia Cup makes travel easier for 2025
A senior BCCI official was told by PTI, “All the players will reach Dubai by the evening of 4 September, and the first NETS session will be held on September 5 at the ICC Academy. Factoring in logical facility, players will be allowed to fly from their respective cities to Dubai.”
The officer further explained, “Obviously, some will travel from Mumbai, but will ask some other people to come to Mumbai first and then fly to Dubai.
Well, another reason may be that the BCCI would like to avoid media in Mumbai amid a ruckus in the India-Pakistan match in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. There is a lot of anger among fans, former cricketers and politicians about the India-Pakistan match.

In such a situation, they would like to avoid media before such an important tournament, as it can distract them from their goals.

Meanwhile, men in Blue will discontinue their Asia Cup 2025 campaign against UAE on September 10, before facing their hardcore rivals Pakistan in their second game in Dubai on 14 September. He will then take him to Oman on 19 September in his final group-phase match.
On the other hand, some players selected for the Asia Cup are playing in the Dalip Trophy. Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana are representing the North Zone against the East Zone in the ongoing Dalip Trophy 2025 quarter -finals, while Kuldeep Yadav is playing for the Central Zone against the North East Zone.
The BCCI official has also confirmed that standby players Prasad Krishna and Washington Sundar will not travel as net bowlers with the main squad.
