The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has broken its silence on Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s heated on-field moment with the Sri Lanka A team cricketer during the triangular ODI series in the island nation.

Many such claims were made on social media platforms that BCCI may take strict action to teach the 15-year-old player a lesson. Board Secretary Devjit Saikia has refuted all claims of possible action against the batsman.
Will BCCI take action against Vaibhav Suryavanshi?
Devjit Saikia says that it is completely within the jurisdiction of the match referee to take action against the behavior of a player during the match. If the match referee wants to take some action, he can do so, but it has nothing to do with BCCI, because BCCI has no right to take action against any of its players on the basis of such incidents.

“BCCI is not the authority in such matters. We should not interfere in an area where match referees and umpires are the primary authorities empowered to take decisions regarding incidents occurring on the field of play,” Saikia told news agency PTI through a video.
