BCCI rewarded Team India with record amount
After the victorious campaign, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a huge cash prize of ₹51 crore for the World Cup winning team. The prize, apart from the ICC prize money, will be distributed among the players, coaches, selectors and support staff led by head coach Amol Muzumdar. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia lauded the team’s remarkable achievement, calling it a defining moment for Indian cricket. She also lauded the efforts of ICC President Jay Shah in elevating women’s cricket to the global level in view of the increased ICC prize pool for the Women’s World Cup.
“BCCI is very happy and without touching anything from ICC’s kitty, BCCI on its part is going to award Rs 51 crore to the Indian team. This amount will be given to the players, selectors as well as the support staff headed by Amol Muzumdar.” Saikia said during the announcement.
