The Pakistan Cricket Board has extended its support to the BCB and supported its decision not to travel to India for the T20 World Cup. Following the extended support, the BCB, in a fresh statement, has issued a clear warning to the ICC of a walkover if forced to play in India.
The India-Bangladesh disputes have taken a new turn with the PCB getting support from the Bangladesh Cricket Board following its rebellion against its long-time rival, the BCCI. Mohsin Naqvi remains a constant threat to the smooth functioning of the BCCI and has left no stone unturned in challenging the ICC as well.
With Bangladesh choosing not to play in India, issues will be complicated and potentially strain relations between the two boards. If such situation increases, India’s Bangladesh tour will also be cancelled.
BCB gets massive support from Mohsin Naqvi’s PCB amid T20 World Cup turmoil
In the war waged against the Indian board, BCCI and their actions, BCB has received widespread support from the Pakistan Cricket Board. PCB’s issues with BCCI have been on the rise since the Champions Trophy when they refused to allow the Blue Indies players to travel to Pakistan despite several attempts to convince them to travel to the country.
The Pakistan Board then signed an agreement with the BCCI, according to which they would play their matches at neutral venues and neither team would travel to each other’s territory. Now, PCB has extended its support to BCB.
He has also assured the Bangladesh Cricket Board to talk to the ICC supporting their appeal to shift the matches to Sri Lanka.
BCB director issues walkover ultimatum if forced to play in India
After the ICC asked the BCB to reconsider its decision and assured additional security to all players and support staff traveling to India during the T20 World Cup, BCB director Asif Akbar has issued a public statement, warning them that they will get a walkover in the ICC T20 World Cup if the match venues are not changed.
Asif Akbar said, “If we are forced to play in India we will leave. We are ready to play in Sri Lanka instead.”
“We have already made our position clear. That option is no longer open to us. Given the Mustafizur issue and the concerns regarding our players, we remain negative about playing in India. However, we are open to playing in Sri Lanka,” he said.

BCB still awaits ICC’s response before final decision on T20 World Cup
A recent report by ESPNcricinfo has revealed that the ICC has issued an ultimatum to the BCB saying that either they will have to travel to India for the World Cup or be ready to risk points.
However, the official statement from BCB clearly states that no such ultimatum has been issued, and they are awaiting any response from the ICC before giving their final decision on the matter.
“Since the ICC is the guardian of world cricket, we will inform our next course of action after receiving their response,” Asif said in his statement.
