Bangladesh has named an unchanged 16-member team for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Pakistan, sticking to the same players who recently won a 2–1 series over Sri Lanka. This decision reflects the confidence of the selectors in the current setup, especially after the winning of the series in Colombo.
All three fixtures will be played at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on July 20, 22 and 24. Pakistan’s team has already come to the Bangladeshi capital, while the hosts returned home on Thursday, who were riding high on their latest abroad.
Litton proceeds from the front as the search for Bangladesh
Litton Das is maintained as a captain and will aim to build on his growing reputation as a successful T20I leader. He recently won Sri Lanka after a 3–0 sweep in West Indies, who became the first Bangladesh captain to win two T20I series away from home.
Top sequence appears to be situated with Tanjid Hasan, Litton, Tohid Hridoy and Shamim Hussain with Tanjid Hasan, Litton, Tohid Hridoy and Shamim Hussain. In the bowling department, Mahdi Hasan was a standout artist in the third T20I, who used to do 4 figures for 11, while leg-spinners Rishad Hussain and Pesar Mustafizur Rahman were extraordinary with their economy rates, who were living under six runs during the series.
Take revenge on the card as Pakistan
The upcoming series gives Bangladesh an opportunity to avenge its 3–0 defeat in Pakistan in Lahore earlier this year. Historically, Pakistan has dominated this rivalry, winning 19 of the 22 T20s played between the two nations. However, with form and home support in his favor, Bangladesh will be expected to turn the table.
A potential challenge may be a pitch condition in Dhaka, where persistent monsoon rains can affect the preparations and the nature of surfaces.
