A shocking incident involving Bangladesh spinner Nayeem Hasan has shocked the cricket world after reports claimed that he was attacked by police officers in Chattogram on Friday (June 12) night. This happened as Mehdi Hasan Miraj was discharged from the hospital.

Naeem was returning home from Dhaka airport after his team, Prime Bank Cricket Club, played a Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League match in Savar. Although he did not play in the match, the spinner was traveling back in a CNG auto-rickshaw when the shocking incident unfolded.

According to a report by ESPN Cricinfo, police officers stopped the vehicle near Lalkhan Bazaar area and behaved aggressively with the Bangladesh cricketer. Naeem reportedly had no idea why he was being targeted or interrogated.

The situation soon turned serious as the officers allegedly grabbed her by the neck and forced her into another auto-rickshaw to take her to the police station. The people present at the spot told the police officers that Nayeem is a national cricketer of Bangladesh, but they ignored it.
