BCB conspires to ruin IPL by confirming venues for New Zealand tour

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed Dhaka and Chattogram as the two venues for the upcoming limited overs competition between the two teams, Bangladesh and New Zealand.

The New Zealand team will first face the host team in a three-match ODI series, which will start from April 17 and end on April 23. The first two matches are to be held in Dhaka, while the last match will be held in Chattogram.

The actions then shift to the shortest format of the game. The first two T20 matches will be held in Chattogram on 27 and 29 April. The last match of the series will be played in Dhaka on 2 May.

New Zealand’s Bangladesh tour will clash with IPL schedule

Bangladesh recently won the home series against Pakistan in the 50-over format. The three-match series was won by the hosts by a 2-1 margin, who are keen to strengthen their campaign for the 2027 ICC ODI World Cup.

travel program:

ODI:

1st ODI, Mirpur, Dhaka, 17 April

2nd ODI, Mirpur, Dhaka, 20 April

3rd ODI, Chattogram, 23 April

T20I:

1st T20I, Chattogram, April 27

2nd T20I, Chattogram, 29 April

3rd T20 match, Mirpur Dhaka, 2 May

The schedule of the series is clashing with IPL 2026 and during that time many New Zealand players will be a part of the IPL. The BCB is unaffected as their players have been banned from participating in the IPL this time, a situation that led to a major uproar and ultimately Bangladesh boycotting the T20 World Cup hosted by India.

List of New Zealand cricketers who will be part of IPL 2026

New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner will be a part of the Mumbai Indians camp. Fast bowler Lockie Ferguson will play for Punjab Kings after being ruled out with injury midway through last season.

Openers Finn Allen and Tim Seifert, along with Rachin Ravindra, will star in the KKR team this season. Jacob Duffy will be seen in RCB colors for the first time, while Kyle Jamieson has moved to Rajasthan Royals as a replacement for Adam Milne.

Daryl Mitchell, Mark Chapman and Devon Conway will play in the PSL, which is in the same window. Whereas Glenn Phillips will be seen captaining Gujarat Titans XI in IPL 2026. Therefore, it seems clear that none of New Zealand’s frontline players will be a part of the Bangladesh tour.
