Bangladesh have announced their squad for the first match against Pakistan, which will be a red-ball contest and will be part of a two-match series that will be part of their ICC World Test Championship campaign.
The last time the Pakistan team visited them for an ODI series, the home team, Bengal Tigers, single-handedly dominated them. However, they will now return for a two-match red ball series in the month of May.
Two matches are to be played between Bangladesh and Pakistan at the home ground of Bengal Tigers. The first match is to be held at Sher-e-Bangla International Stadium in Dhaka between 8 to 12 May and the second match is to be held at Sylhet International Stadium between 16 to 20 May.

Bangladesh have announced their new squad for the upcoming two-match red ball series against Pakistan, which will be part of the World Test Championship schedule for the two teams who have never qualified for the final of the competition.
Famous star Nazmul Hussain Shanto has been made the captain of the team, while experienced wicketkeeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has also been included in the team. Also, the deck of fast bowlers will enhance the glory of the team.

Pakistan’s prospects in this WTC 2025-27 cycle
Despite being a part of the competition since the first season, Pakistan have never managed to finish even in the top half of the World Test Championship table. However, they continued their winning streak from the previous season, ending their long winning drought.
Pakistan, led by their captain Shan Masood, won a match against South Africa to start their campaign in this edition of the competition. They are looking to cash in on this edition of the competition. Whereas Pakistan is currently at 5th position in the WTC points table.
Bangladesh’s fate in World Test Championship 2025-27
Bangladesh, on the other hand, is recovering from the mistake they made before the ICC T20 World Cup when they did not participate in the competition due to a major clash with the BCCI and ICC.
However, in a completely different format of the game, they will look to make the most of this opportunity. The red ball format has been one format where the Bangla Tigers have surprised them in recent times, especially during their last tour of Pakistan.
Bangla Tigers, after two matches, have managed only one loss and one draw in the season and are currently placed 9th in the points table.
