Pakistani cricketer Babar Azam once again disappointed during the second ODI against South Africa when Nandre Berger delivered a powerful blow to the Pakistan stalwart. However, Babar Azam’s fans have taken to social media against the Protea speedster as they rebelled against him.
South Africa is on its Pakistan tour. They leveled the Test series with both teams winning 1-1, while they lost the series 2-1 in the shortest format of the game. South Africa is not playing with its Level A team, yet it is putting up a great fight against the Pakistan team.
The ODI series started with a tremendous performance in Faisalabad, where Pakistan won the match by 2 wickets after a thrilling contest. In the second ODI match played at the same Iqbal Stadium, South Africa has once again leveled the series.
Babar Azam missed scoring runs on another occasion
During the second ODI, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first. Veteran batsman Fakhar Zaman was the first Pakistan wicket to fall against Andre Berger. He was replaced by experienced batsman Babar Azam at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.
However, Babar Azam once again could not perform well in the longer white ball format, as he was out after scoring just 11 runs off just 13 balls. He could not reach even a single ball to the boundary line.
Nandre Berger was a standout performer as he took three wickets in the power play. After Fakhar Zaman and Babar, the left-arm pacer clean bowled Mohammad Rizwan, leading to the collapse of Pakistan’s innings.
Pakistan managed to reach a total of 269 runs in its 50 overs with the help of half-centuries from Sam Ayub, Salman Agha and Mohammad Nawaz. Agha stayed at the crease for a long time but could score only 69 runs in 106 balls.
Nandre Berger performed brilliantly at the Faisalabad Stadium and hit four boundaries in the second ODI. However, Babar fans criticized Nandre Berger and abused him for dismissing their beloved batsman.
As soon as Nandre Berger asked his girlfriend to marry him in an Instagram post, Babar fans have spammed the Protea cricketer’s comments section. He once again commented, ‘Babar Azam is your father,’ a derogatory comment often made by Pakistani fans.

South Africa leveled the series with Quinton de Kock’s century
South Africa’s legendary batsman Quinton de Kock returned from international retirement and turned the tables for South Africa against Pakistan. Quinton de Kock scored 123 runs in just 119 balls and remained unbeaten to lead South Africa to victory by 8 wickets.
Along with De Kock, Tony De Zorzi and Matthew Britzke scored 76 and 17 respectively to give South Africa a comfortable come-from-behind victory. They chased 270 runs and leveled the series 1-1 in Faisalabad.
