Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam enjoys immense fan support despite the disappearance in the national cricket team for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. A fan violated security during an exhibition match in Pakistan and chased Babur before hugging and kissing the star batter.
Babur scored 41 off 23 balls before being dismissed by Saeed Ajmal. He and Yasir Hameed added a 50 -run partnership, but the rest of the Peshawar Zalmi batting lineup struggled and collapsed. Zalmi was unable to bat in his entire 20 overs, as she was excluded for just 144 in 14.4 overs.

In a viral video, the fan ran on the field during the match in Pakistan. He chased Babar Azam, who tried to overcome him. However, the fan reached the batsman, hugged him, and kissed him.

Security personnel quickly intervened, separated the fan and removed him from the site. The incident shows that Babur still has immense fan support despite being out of Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming Asia Cup in UAE.

Babar Azam takes two wickets with the ball
Abdur Rahman scored 35 runs off 18 balls before Abdur Rahman dismissed him. Maz Sadakat and Israrullah were rejected cheaply. Rahman and Mohammad Hafiz harassed the batsmen, causing Zalmi to struggle at 114-5.
Shahid Afridi then took three wickets, including Azan Afridi (13), Nisar Ali (1), and Imran Jr. (Golden Duck). Afridi and Rahman took three wickets, while Ajmal and Hafes caught two episi.
Chasing 145, the Legends had an unstable start in the XI as the initial wickets fell, falling 6–3 in just three overs. Azhar Ali and Humayun Farhat added a 29 -run stand, but lost five wickets in the seventh over. Babur puts more pressure by removing Younis Khan for two.
Injem-ul-Haq removed the powerful stroke to lift the total. Azhar Mahmood and Inzamam added a 50 -run partnership, which kept the chase alive. He needed 22 out of the finals, but was reduced by six runs, stayed at 138–6.
Inzamam remained unbeaten on 46 runs in 23 balls, and Mahmood scored 14 runs. For Zalmi, Irfan Pathan and Babar Azam took two wickets, while Salman and Zulfikar Babur took one each.
Babur Azam was kept out of Pakistan’s Asia Cup squad
Babar Azam is excluded from Pakistan’s Asia Cup squad. Pakistan head coach Mike Hessen said that the batsman should work at his strike rate. The former captain has not played T20 International since December 2024.
The Pakistan batsman has tolerated the lean patch for a long time. He played 72 innings in Tests, ODIs and T20Is without reaching a century. The right-handed batsman last reached the triple-fiber score against Nepal during the 2023 Asia Cup.
Babur last played for Pakistan during an three -match ODI series in the West Indies, where he managed a score of 47, 0, and 9. He is investigating after his brilliant performances.
