Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam made his Big Bash League (BBL) debut for Sydney Sixers against Perth Scorchers in the current season. However, the right-handed batsman had a day to forget as he was out for a single-digit score in the ongoing match at the Perth Stadium on Sunday, December 14.
There was a delay of more than an hour in the start of the clash. Notably, the weather forced officials to shorten the match to 11 overs per side as conditions improved. When the game started the Sydney Sixers faltered early. Daniel Hughes was out for a duck in the opening over, leaving the visitors level at 1-1.

Brodie Couch dismissed the biggest name on the field, Babar Azam, in his very first spell. The former Pakistan captain never settled at the crease on his BBL debut, struggling with extra bounce before making a mistake with a pull shot.
Babar tried to hit the ball short of the length, but the ball went up the bat and gave an easy catch to Laurie Evans at mid-on. He walked out after scoring only 2 runs on 5 balls. The right-handed batsman failed to make an impact on his BBL debut.
