Pakistan beats Sri Lanka 3-0 in ODI in Rawalpindi
Meanwhile, Pakistan swept the three-match ODI series 3-0 with a six-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the final match in Rawalpindi. Thanks to their disciplined bowling performance, the home team looked in control from the very first ball.
Mohammad Wasim created the atmosphere in the beginning with his flamboyant spell. Wasim took three wickets in Rawalpindi, while Haris Rauf and Faisal Akram took two wickets each to restrict Sri Lanka to 211 runs. Defending the target, Sri Lanka’s spinners tried to bring them back into the game by applying some pressure in the middle overs and slowing down Pakistan’s scoring rate.
But with the arrival of Fakhar Zaman, the host team’s momentum came back. After Fakhar’s wicket, Mohammad Rizwan’s calm and unbeaten inning of 61 gave Pakistan a comfortable victory, winning the game against Sri Lanka by six wickets with more than five overs remaining.
