Former India batsman Krishnamachari Srikkanth criticized Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Axar Patel after his team failed to score only 75 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Monday night.

Krish Srikkanth shows that Axar Patel has done very little to benefit the team with both bat and ball in this season’s IPL. Despite being the captain of the team, Srikanth had raised questions on Patel’s contribution.

Akshar Patel is under more pressure due to his individual performance

In the current Indian Premier League season, 32-year-old spin bowling all-rounder Axar Patel has taken only 7 wickets in 8 matches at an economy rate of 8.33. With the bat, the team’s middle-order batsman has scored only 31 runs in 6 innings at an average of 6.20, including a best score of 26 not out.

“He hasn’t done anything with the bat for a long time. Even as an all-rounder and captain, it’s been a long time since he did anything. When was the last time he did something lethal with the bat or the ball? If this is the situation then how can the team overcome it?” Former Team India captain Chris Srikkanth has expressed concern about Akshar Patel in his YouTube video.

Delhi Capitals had scored 264 runs in the last match!

DC’s 10 wickets for 75 runs came after the match against RCB, where they scored a huge score of 264. Against Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals scored 264 runs on the back of KL Rahul’s 150-plus innings. It was strange to see that the team which had batted so brilliantly in the previous match, failed completely in the very next game.

Despite scoring 264 runs, Punjab Kings achieved the target easily, which was definitely a big blow for DC. From the outside it is clear that there is something wrong with the team. They have class, they have skill, and their team has all the necessary equipment, but somehow, they are unable to succeed.

Srikanth brought the entire middle-order batting order of Delhi Capitals into question. He took names one after another and briefly explained why the team was struggling.

Srikanth told the matter to Nitish Rana

The former batsman termed experienced Indian batsman Nitish Rana as a lost cause. He pointed out Sameer Rizvi’s weakness against fast and medium pace bowlers. Srikanth also faced the team’s foreign batsmen like Tristan Stubbs and David Miller.

He said, “Tristan Stubbs has been around for a long time. When you bowl Nitish Rana, he is an old affair. Sameer Rizvi struggles against fast or medium-fast bowling at the start of his innings. If he gets set after dismissing a spinner for 20, he will play well against the fast bowlers too. Miller has not done anything impressive either.”
