Avesh Khan shares his opinion on blockbuster trade
Lucknow Super Giants fast bowler Avesh Khan He believes the exchange is a positive outcome for both teams and has expressed full confidence in the management’s decision-making process.
Speaking to ANI, Avesh said, “It was a management decision based on their needs. I believe it is a good deal for both teams. Delhi got Rishabh Pant back, and we got Kuldeep, whose experience as a world-class spinner will be very beneficial for us on our big home ground.”
The fast bowler highlighted Kuldeep’s experience as one of India’s leading wrist spinners and believes his arrival can significantly boost LSG’s bowling attack, especially at the Ekana Stadium, where large boundaries often favor quality spin bowling.
Avesh also clarified that the decision was driven by the long-term planning of the franchise rather than personal preferences. Lucknow is trying to recover from a disappointing 2026 campaign, so the inclusion of an experienced spinner like Kuldeep is expected to bring more balance to the team.

Why the trade could be a win-win for both franchises?
The trade has the potential to benefit both teams in different ways. For Delhi Capitals, bringing back Pant represents more than just signing an explosive wicketkeeper-batsman. Pant has been associated with the franchise for almost a decade and has captained the team in the past as well. His return reinstates a familiar leader around whom the team can rebuild its batting unit and dressing room culture.
For Lucknow, the acquisition of Kuldeep addresses an area that needs strengthening. The left-arm wrist spinner has consistently performed well in the IPL and international cricket, offering the ability to take wickets in the middle overs. His variations could prove particularly effective on the slow Lucknow home surface, where spin traditionally plays a decisive role.
The move gives LSG greater financial flexibility by reducing their overall salary commitment, giving them additional room to strengthen other departments first ipl 2027 auction. However, Pant’s departure will also force the franchise to look for a new captain, making the leadership decision equally important in their rebuilding process.
