Australian cricket has received a big relief after Damien Martyn showed remarkable signs of improvement after the horrific health crisis. The former Australian batsman has emerged from a coma and his family has described his recovery as “miraculous”.
Martin was admitted to the Gold Coast University Hospital after being diagnosed with meningitis. Doctors put the 54-year-old World Cup winner into an induced coma as part of his treatment, causing concern among the Australian cricket fraternity and his family and loved ones.

However, in the latest update, Martin’s partner, Amanda, and his family confirmed that he has now regained consciousness and is responding well. A report in Fox Cricket read, “Damien Martyn has come out of the coma and is progressing well in his medical treatment.”
