After two Australian World Cup campaigners were allegedly harassed in India during the World Cup campaign, Australian cricketer Ashley Gardner’s wife posted on Instagram that two police constables are seen escorting them to a cafe while they were traveling around the city in a taxi.
India are currently hosting Australia Women for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, and the defending champions have won all their group stage games barring the only games that were washed out by rain. They have been unbeatable in the World Cup and will now face India.
However, in an embarrassing incident, two Australian cricketers from the World Cup team were chased and molested by a man riding a motorcycle in Indore on Thursday. Although the accused was caught within hours of the incident, the incident remains a black spot for India, which has to be ashamed.

Australian all-rounder Ashley Gardner’s wife Monica Wright on Monday took a dig at the security arrangements in India. The cricketer’s wife posted on her Instagram story which showed the couple sitting inside a taxi and two police officers posing at the back of the couple’s taxi.
The post was made on Instagram with the caption “Police escort to cafĂ©”.
This happened when the two happened to be riding in a cab in some part of Mumbai as they were traveling to a café. The couple posed for the camera; However, the caption was a humorous satire by the Australian about the safety of Indian women.
Cricket Australia had also confirmed the alleged molestation of its women cricketers and it was only the intervention of security officer Danny Simmons that the two women were saved after the players shared their live location.
Indian batsmen ruled out of entire World Cup before semi-final against Australia
Indian opening batsman Pratika Raval suffered a severe ankle sprain during the match against Bangladesh, ruling her out of the entire World Cup as the BCCI medical team found the ankle injury to be serious enough.
The opener scored a century against New Zealand and scored the second-highest number of runs for India along with fellow Indian opener Smriti Mandhana. Mandhana will now have to bat with a new partner in the semi-final match against Australia at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Thursday.

Australia remains undefeated in the World Cup so far, as they are seven-time champions in the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup. However, she will have to play with the Georgia Vols at the top of their batting order after Alyssa Healy was sidelined with injury.
In the absence of the captain, Tahila McGrath continues to lead the Australian women. They will be aiming for their eighth World Cup title.
