India is allegedly considering relaxing Pace Spearhead Jasprit Bumrah for its final group-offer match against Oman during the Asia Cup 2025. The team management may allow other options including Arshdeep Singh, beyond the super for stage matches in the eight-team tournament.

India have secured their place in the Super Four Stage of the Asia Cup after winning the back-to-back. Men in Blue will play their last group-step match against Oman at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, September 19. Suryakumar Yadav’s side may test his bench strength before the next round.

If they progress in the Asia Cup final, India can play four matches in just seven days. The management aims to preserve Bumrah’s fitness for the important phase of the tournament, while Arshdeep Singh will also be provided with valuable sports time.

Bumrah recorded the bowling figures of 2 for 28 against Pakistan. He left Bhuvneshwar Kumar behind India’s all-time T20I wickets to reach fourth place in the list. Pesar has taken an average of 17.67 in 72 matches and 92 wickets in the economy rate 6.29.

Arshdeep Singh is likely to convert Jasprit Bumrah into playing in XI

India started its Asia Cup 2025 campaign with a back-to-back win. He defeated the UAE by nine wickets on 9 September and then five days later in Pakistan won seven wickets. They are with a game on top of their group.

Arshdeep Singh did not make the first two matches. Jaspreet Bumrah played as the only frontline pacer, while all-rounders Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dubey offered additional speed options. India maintained the same lineup for the struggle against Pakistan.

Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana are contenders to convert Bumrah into playing XI. Arshdeep needs only one wicket to become the eighth Indian bowler to reach 100 T20I wickets. He will also add left-arms variety to India’s bowling attack.

India’s batsman to get valuable practice against Oman

The upcoming match will give valuable time to the middle-order batsmen of India at the crease, as many players have not received very little or any opportunity in the tournament so far.

It can serve as a platform for batsmen like Sanju Samson, Exer Patel and Hardik Pandya, who do not yet have an impact, to spend time in between.

Suryakumar Yadav and Team leadership may reshuffle the batting order to test various combinations, while youths like Rinku Singh can be given a chance to prove themselves in a competitive environment.

India’s potential XI vs. Oman: Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Verma, Suryakumar Yadav (C), Sanju Samson (WK), Hardik Pandya, Exer Patel, Shivam Dubey, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakravarthi, Kuldeep Yadav
