The Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, which is scheduled to begin on 9 September at the United Arab Emirates (UAE). After the announcement, updates about the team’s departure and preparation for the event have been reported.
After a month’s break, the Selection Committee led by Ajit Agrakar announced the Asia Cup team in Mumbai on Tuesday, August 19, 19 August. Ajit Agkar and captain Suryakumar Yadav revealed that Shubman Gill would work as the new vice-captain of the team, who will replace all-rounder Axar Patel in the role.
Team India to leave for Dubai without a pre -camp on 4 or 5 September
The Men in Blue has not played T20 matches since February 2025. The team had reports of holding a preparation camp before the Asia Cup.

According to News 24, Team India will leave for Dubai on September 4 or 5 for the tournament. The report also states that blue colored men will not keep any pre -camp.

The players are returning to T20 cricket after the IPL, and the Asia Cup will also serve as the preparation of the T20 World Cup 2026, which is going to be in India and Sri Lanka next year.
India Open Asia Cup 2025 campaign on 10 September
Suryakumar Yadav -led side launched its Asia Cup 2025 campaign against UAE on 10 September. He will play his next match against Pakistan on 14 September, followed by his last group match against Oman on 19 September. Shubman Gill and Jasprit Bumrah will return to the team after a long absence.
The tournament will be held in the United Arab Emirates from 9 to 28 September, with hosts held in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Blue men are placed in Group A along with Pakistan, UAE and Oman. Blue people could face Pakistan three times.
After the group’s phase, the top two teams of each group will proceed to the Super 4 rounds, which will be played in a round-robin format. Two best actors of Super 4 will then compete in the final for the trophy.
Pakistan Camp and Tri-Series prepare for Asia Cup 2025
Meanwhile, Pakistan will enter the Asia Cup 2025 with a training camp and a white ball preparation including a three-series. His camp at the ICC Academy starts from August 22 to help the players to accommodate the terms of the UAE.
After the camp, Pakistan will participate in a Tri-Nation T20I series in Sharjah from 29 August to 7 September. The Men will play a series against Afghanistan and UAE. This schedule provides adequate match practice and allows the selectors to rotate players, including new talent.
With several sports leading to the Asia Cup, Pakistan will be well prepared, unlike men in the preparation of blue for the tournament.
