As the Asia Cup 2025 is just a few weeks away, political fire has arisen on India’s set confrontation with Pakistan in Dubai on 14 September. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has urged the Government of India to block the live telecast of India vs Pakistan match in all platforms keeping in mind the national interest and public sentiments.
Chaturvedi slammed the government’s decision to allow India vs Pakistan game in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 after the Pahgam terror attack. He recalled India’s Swift Counter-Terror Operation, Operation Sindor, and Deligation’s World Tour to show his stand against terror.

He also criticized both BCCI and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for prioritizing the tournament on moral responsibility. Priyanka Chaturvedi wrote in her letter to Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, “A parliamentary delegation was given a message of zero tolerance for terrorism globally, of which I was also a part, and Goi’s decision is completely useless for (Pakistan) to move forward with cricket matches.”
Chaturvedi felt that preparing the India vs Pakistan match as a “sportsmanship” is a poor excuse that the neighboring country has an excuse to ignore how to sponsor terror. He said, “To allow the match to be the match, there is a lack of moral courage to stand against the Sportsman Spirit and stand against the nation.”

He urged the Ministry of Electronics and urges to block live streaming of India vs Pakistan match in all platforms.
Chaturvedi said in his letter, “Keeping in mind the attitude of national interest and public spirit, it is necessary that Meety blocks the live streaming of India-Pakistan match in all OTT platforms, websites and apps. Since you also keep in charge of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, I stop the broadcast from going away from the match.”
The Rajya Sabha MP also mentioned how many countries have chosen the long -standing principles on sports and have shown that sports programs are not above national interest.

He gave an example of the boycott of South Africa during apartheid, Olympic boycott, and even Pakistan refused to play Hockey Asia Cup 2025 in India. Pakistan did not even play the Asia Cup in India in 1990-91 due to security.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) MP said that any profit earned from India vs Pakistan match would be “cursed money”, as it would be associated with the sacrifice of soldiers and victims of terrorist attacks.
He signed, saying, “However, the insistence on the BCCI promoting this match would have really earned money, not only blood money but cursed money, as it bears the curses of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and the coffins of our men.”
