Roger Binny has been disqualified as the Chairman of the Control Board (BCCI) for cricket in India, causing confusion on the leadership within the board. However, Binny may remain as President till the annual general meeting (AGM) of BCCI in September. He can continue informally, without signing the official documents or without performing administrative duties.

According to a recent Cricbuzz report, Binny may be allowed to serve in an AGM, to maintain the title but refrain from active responsibilities.

Meanwhile, Shukla is waiting for clarity from senior board officials. Many of them have recently delayed formal decisions regarding leadership transition, with attendance at the ICC annual conference in Singapore.

Sports Minister Mansukh Mandavia prepared to introduce bills

The proposed Sports Government Bill to be introduced by Union Sports Minister Mansuh Mandavia during the monsoon session of Parliament can affect the current BCCI leadership status.
