Former Pakistan cricketer and selector Basit Ali has made controversial comments on the India vs Pakistan match before the Asia Cup 2025. The much awaited India vs Pakistan struggle is scheduled on 14 September at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
The Pahgam attack earlier this year amid calls for the boycott of India versus Pakistan due to the Pahgam attack, it seems that the game will move forward according to the scheme, as the Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are silent on social media buzz.
Referring to political and diplomatic tensions between India and Pakistan, Basit Ali said that it would actually help men in green if the BCCI did not decide the struggle of the High-Voltage India vs Pakistan in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025.

He felt that India’s refusal would protect Pakistan from another insult on the field after the West Indies were embarrassed in the third and final ODI.
Basit Ali said on the game plan YouTube channel, “I pray that India refused to play against Pakistan in the Asia Cup, just as he did in the Legends World Championships.

After Basit’s remarks, the host laughed Pakistan’s struggles and said that the team did not even defeat Afghanistan in the upcoming continental tournament, the way they are playing cricket.
Basit quickly replied, saying that the loss to Afghanistan will not make much uproar in Pakistan, but a defeat for India always expresses resentment across the country.
Basit signed, saying, “If we lose to Afghanistan, no one will care much in this country. But everyone drives mad at the moment when you lose in India.”
