Team India’s batter Karun Nair has opened the impact of Head Coach Gautam Gambhir in the dressing room during the recent Test series against England. Nair revealed that from the beginning of the England series, unity and collective efforts were focused on achieving something special on English soil.
Shubman Gill led India for the first time in a recent five-match series against England, which ended in 2–2 draws. With 1–2 behind in India, Gill directed the team for a thrilling win in the final match. The series was a new era for Team India, with Captain and Rishabh Pant as the vice-captain as Gill.
Karun Nair struggled to start in the Indo-England Test series
Karun Nair recently fought to influence the India-England Test series. Nair scored 205 runs in four matches on an average of 25.62, with only one half -century. The right -handed batsman started well in the entire series, but was unable to convert him into a big score, disappointing him.

Earlier, Nair had excelled in domestic cricket after leaving from Karnataka to Vidarbha, including four centuries and two half-centuries at an average of 53.93, scoring 863 runs in the 2024–25 Ranji Trophy.
The middle-order batsman also dominated the Vijay Hazare Trophy, scoring 779 runs in eight innings at an extraordinary average of 389.50, with a strike rate of five centuries and 124.04.

Speaking at the backstage with Boria, Karun Nair revealed that Gautam Gambhir inspired the players with the team-first. Nair credited him to encourage him and increase his confidence, allowing him to fully focus on contributing to the team in every situation.
Nair told Revsports, “From day 1, the entire messaging team has been about putting first and putting all efforts in defeating England. The entire goal of the series was to do something special as a team.”
“It was really inspiring, this message was coming from day 1, and everyone had really bought it, which you must have seen as the progress of the series. Brother There was someone who gave us a lot of encouragement and support. ,
“I can talk for myself that he really gave me the confidence to go there and give it his best. Therefore, the whole attention was to go out of there and the way I know, he had to play for the team in any situation, which I was.”
I would lie if I said that I do not have self -sure – Karun Nair
Karun Nair admitted that he experienced self-doubt and was uncertain how he would achieve his goals. He thanked him for his support received during those challenging times.
“Yes, of course. I am lying if I said that I did not have self-doubt. As I said, I could see where I wanted to reach, but I was not sure how I was going to do this. All this was about belief and small steps that I had taken to make all efforts.”
“Every day going to the gym, driving an hour and a half hours to practice, something that I see back now. I am grateful for it and for those who stood by me to help me during those days.”
